So we got one heck of a wicked ice storm last night.
My aunt, who I work for, called me last night, and asked if I wanted to trade hours with a girl from work, so that I could come in later. I said no. I hate getting home late, especially on Fridays.
She called me like 15 minutes later, and said that she was on the interstate, going 27mph....because that's all the faster she could go. She told me to stay home today, and if she really needed me, she'd call.
I just got off the phone with a coworker of mine, and he said that there were like, 8 kids at the daycare. So, sounds like I get the day off! Woot!
So....Christmas has kind of snuck up on me. It's less than a week away. I have most of my shopping done....but I do still have a couple things to pick up. Luckily, I have all day to get it done.
The kids, mostly Kaitlyn, have been getting anxious for Christmas. Now that there are presents under the tree, Kaitlyn has become very curious about the tree. She asked me this yesterday:
Kaitlyn: Who's birthday is it?
Ashley: No ones?
Kaitlyn: Then why do we have birthday presents under the Christmas tree?
I laughed. She's so cute.
Alex is still using the potty at daycare on a pretty regular basis. However, at home he has no interest at all. I'm not really worried, or upset at this point...he only just turned two....so it's not a big deal at this point. I just think it's funny.

Chrstmas tree....
Since Tina shared Krista's experience with the tree, I thought I'd share Kaitlyn's.
I've been asking her periodically what she wants for Christmas. She replies with the same answer every time.
A: What do you want for Christmas, Kait?
K: Um...a Christmas tree. And presents.
So we were getting ready to set up our artificial tree on Saturday. We got the box out of the closet, and took it to the living room. Kait sat down beside it, with a huge smile, and started talking about it.
K: Hey mom, what is in this box?
A: I don't know, what is it?
K: I don't know. It has a picture of a Tree on it.
A: So what do you think is in it?
K: I don't know....
A: What do you want for Christmas Kait?
K: A Christmas tree. And presents.
A: So what do you think is in there?
K: I don't know, some candy maybe?
So we got out our video camera that we just got this year. We never get any good videos, mainly because we never remember to get it out. We thought that this would be an adorable video. However, as soon as Kait saw the camera, she immediately stopped being cute. She no longer even knew what the picture was on the side of the box. *sigh* One of these days, we'll get a good video.
Also....I got the commercial of the Air and Space Museum. I haven't seen it on tv....but here it is! Kaitlyn is in it!

Future movie star?
Just so you know.....
Kaitlyn, along with 5 or 6 other kids her age from the daycare, are supposed to be in a commercial for the SAC museum. It will run all month long on KOLN 10/11 Lincoln. That's all I really know about it. I haven't seen it yet....but another mom at the daycare saw it this morning.
A mother of a couple of kids at the daycare works out there, and asked us to supply some kids to play at their new exhibit, while some cameras followed them around.
I don't really know for sure that she actually made the cut.....but keep your fingers crossed! ^_^
